Fostering in Faith: Sophie

April 2019 · Fostering in Faith, Ministry News

There’s nothing Sophie would rather do than spend time with animals. The lively 9-year-old enjoys playing with her pet guinea pig and helping animals in distress. She loves animals so much, she wants to become a veterinarian when she grows up.

Energetic and talkative, Sophie likes virtually any activity that takes place outdoors, including bicycling, swimming, visiting the park, and riding the ATV with her foster parent. Indoors, she likes to get her hair done and visit the pet store.

Through no fault of her own, Sophie has been in and out of foster care most of her life. As a result, she craves attention from adults. Her elder biological brother has expressed an interest in maintaining contact with Sophie, but is unable to adopt her. She would do best in a two-parent family with siblings and, of course, pets.

Sophie hopes for loving, calm adults in her life who can spend quality one-on-one time with her. She needs affectionate parents who understand the effects of trauma on a child her age and who are willing to go the extra mile in reminding her that she is loved unconditionally. Please pray that Sophie may find the family she needs to help her grow, heal, and find hope again.
